Ne vitet 2003- 2008 ajo ka qene Pergjegjese e Departamentit te Gjeologjise se Mjedisit dhe Gjeokimise ne Sherbimin Gjeologjik Shqiptar. Fushat e interesit: Gjeologji ambjentale, gjeokimi, hartografime gjeologo-ambjentale. Dr. Cara kryen kerkime shkencore ne fushen e gjeologjise ambjentale dhe gjeokimise, hartografimet gjeoambjentale, vleresimet e riskut ambjental ne toka, ujra, sedimente, ndryshimet klimatike dhe impakti antropogjen per nje zhvillim dhe planifikim te qendrueshem urban dhe mjedisor.
