Dr. Abazi studied hydrotechnic engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (1994-1999) at Polytechnic University of Tirana. During 2003-2005 she completed a Master of Science study for "Hydroinformatics,” at UNESCO-IHE, International Institute for Infrastructural, Hydraulic, and Environmental Engineering, Delft, Netherlands. In 2022 she received her PhD at the Civil Engineering Faculty, Polytechnic University of Tirana. From 2011 onwards, she is a lecturer at the Department of Hydraulics and Hydrotechnic at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Polytechnic University of Tirana.

 

 

Mrs. Abazi is a Scientific Researcher at the department of Hydrology, her research interests are mainly focused on hydrological and hydraulic modeling of river systems and river flow analyses. Dr. Abazi conducts research in 1Dimensional and 2Dimensional mathematical models for flood hazard mapping, flood velocity mapping, impact of structural and non-structural flood mitigation measures which are used for flood risk assessment and river management studies. Since 2011 she is involved in real-time forecasting of flash flood, river floods, and forest fire danger in order to issue warnings to the National Civil Emergency and Local Authorities.
