Dr. Entela Vako has studied at  the Faculty of Geology and Mining, for Geology (1990-1995), Polytechnic University of Tirana. During 2000-2003 has completed her Master’s studies in Hydrogeology, while during the years  2010-2015 has completed her Ph.D studies near “Applied Geology and Geoinformatics” Department at  the Faculty of Geology and Mining, Polytechnic University of Tirana.

From 2011 to now Mrs. Vako works as academic staff at Department of Hydrology and National Center for Forecasting and Monitoring of Natural Hazards, Institute of Geosciences, Tiranë.

Her research interes is focused in Hydrology, in operational forecasting and monitoring as well as in early warning of natural hazards such as floods, flash floods, droughts and forest fires through different hydrological-meteorological models or platforms aim to follow in real time developing of natural hazards.

Dr. Entela Vako has conducted a series of trainings in the field of hydrology for the using of the platform of Flash Flood GuidanceSEEFFGS) developed by the Hydrologic Research Center (HRC, USA), as well as the platform of the European Flood AwarenessEFFAS) developed by the European Commission (EC) and the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF).
