Dr. Jaupaj completed her Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Biology and Chemistry at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Shkodra (1992-1996). She received her Master of Science (MSc.) in Aquatic Ecology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tirana (2005-2007), and was awarded a Doctorate/Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tirana (2010-2014). Mrs. Jaupaj was initially employed at the Institute of Biological Research, Academy of Sciences and, from 2009 onwards, she has been part of the Institute of Geosciences which, was formerly named Institute of Geosciences, Energy, Water and Environment. At first, she was part of the Department of Renewable Energy and the Department of Water Ecology and Renewable Energy, and currently at the Department of Hydrology. Since 2020, Mrs. Jaupaj heads the Department of Hydrology/Institute of Geosciences, Tirana. Her research interests, while working for Institute of Biological Research, Academy of Sciences, focused on Water Ecology in general and Rivers’ Phyto Benthos in particular; whereas, at the Institute of Geosciences her main research interests cover Bio Energy as well as Early Warning of Natural Hazards with special focus on Forest Fires. Regarding her lecturing/academic career, she has given a major contribution in introducing and compiling for the first time in Albania such university courses as Environmental Protection and Biomass Energy Production Technology and has been lecturing the above-mentioned subjects for several years at the Faculty of Civil Engineering/Polytechnic University of Tirana.
