ECES 2024 welcomes contributions in theory and analysis of environment, climate, earth sciences, and related fields, including methods, techniques & innovation, applied to reduce the risks related to society

ECES 2024 conference will be held ONSITE, the online option is offered only for foreign participants

The open lecture, The environment and its associated hazards by Dr Massimo Chiappini, Director of Department of Environment of the National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology (INGV), Rome, Italy, is organised by the Institute of Geosciences (IGEO) in close collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Tirana (UPT), Albania.

Institute of Geosciences (IGEO) - Albania and GEM-Italy are currently working on a 1-year project to update its national seismic hazard model. In the first workshop held in January, GEM had the opportunity to chat with Edmond Dushi, Seismologist and Vice Director of the Institute of Geosciences, (IGEO); and Anila Xhahysa, Structural Engineer and Head of the Seismology Department (IGEO) about the importance of the partnership and what motivated IGEO to partner with GEM.

The International Scientific Symposium on "The Earthquake of November 26, 2019
The International Scientific Symposium on the theme "Earthquake of 26 November 2019 with a magnitude of 6.4 in Durrës, Albania: Regional Seismicity, Regional Geodynamics and Seismic Risk", (ISDE-2023)", organized by IGJEO in collaboration with "Albanian Association of Earthquake Engineering (AAEE) ), Tirana, Albania" and "Empowerment Project Foundation (EMPRO), Tirana, Albania" held on March 28-29, 2023, at the Tirana International Hotel & Conference Center, Tirana. With the participation of one of the most well-known scientists from the USA, Mark Peterson, who is quite famous in the international arena in the field of seismology/earthquake risk, as well as many other well-known names in Europe and beyond. During the proceedings of the conference, presentations were held from the latest studies related to earthquakes and the field of seismology in the country and in the region. Special importance was given to Seismic Maps published by IGJEO....

On January 15, 2023, at 22:37:21 (local time), the Institute of Geosciences has located an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7

A seismic activity has started yesterday on 13/01/2023, in the south of the city of Klos.

Prof. Emeritus Jens HVSKOV, Sizmolog prane NORSAR, Universiteti i Bergen, Norvegji, zhvilloi sot për specialistët e monitorimit, në Qendrën Kombëtare të Monitorimit Sizmik mbi aspekte të përpunimit rutinë dhe lokalizimit të tërmeteve!

Pjesëmarrja në Panairin e dytë të Punës organizuar nga Universiteti Politeknik i Tiranës. Pjesemarresit e IGJEO me ane te nje stende prezantuan produktet dhe punën e IGJEO.

Në kuadër të 70-Vjetor-it te themelimit te Universitetit Politeknik te Tiranes, Instituti i Gjeoshkencave, organizoi Simpoziumin e Parë Ndërkombëtar Shkencor "GJEOSHKENCAT, ARRITJET DHE SFIDAT PËR TË ARDHMEN", me pjesëmarrjen e Drejtorit Prof. Dr. Ylber Muceku, rektorit Prof. Dr. Andrea Maliqari, zv.Ministrit te Infrastrukturës dhe Energjisë z. Ilir Bejtja, stafit akademik nga Universiteti Politeknik, përfaqësuesve te institucioneve te ndryshme partnere tonat, studentët, ekspertëve të fushave përkatëse, pjesëmarrës nga institucione publike dhe private, etj.

Falenderojme: GIZ, Qeverine Gjermane (German Cooperation) dhe Kompanine EUROSIG-INSIG me mbeshtetjen e të cilëve u be i mundur organizimi i ketij Simpoziumi.

Simpoziumi u zhvillua ne ambientet e Hotel Mondial, në datën 25 nëntor 2021 dhe ishte i ndarë ne dy sesione:
